GLOVERSVILLE HOUSING AUTHORITY

 

Minutes of a Regular Meeting

 

The Gloversville Housing Authority’s Board of Commissioners met in a regular session at DuBois Garden Apartments on April 17, 2018.

John Poling, Vice Chairperson

Marcia Weiss, Secretary

Beau Kicinski, Commissioner

Gail Ryan, Commissioner

Jason Sweeney, Resident Commissioner

Christine Nicosia, Resident Commissioner

Benjamin McGuire, Authority Legal Counsel

Heather A. Reynolds, Executive Director

 

The Chairperson called the meeting to order at 6:00 PM. The minutes of the regular meeting held in March were presented. There were no corrections or changes. Mr. Sweeney made a motion to adopt the minutes as presented. Mrs. Ryan seconded the motion and it was carried unanimously. The Chairperson presented the minutes of the special meeting held in April. There were no corrections or changes. Ms. Nicosia made a motion to adopt the minutes as presented. Mrs. Weiss seconded and it was carried unanimously.

 

At this time the Chairperson asked if anyone had any comments they would like to make. No one had any comments or questions for the Board.

 

The Chairperson asked if there was any old business to discuss. There was no old business to discuss.

 

The Chairperson took a moment to read a thank you card he had received from former Interim Executive Director Daniel R. Towne. Mrs. Ryan explained they had given Mr. Towne a day clock, which also shows the days of the week.

 

The Chairperson presented Resolution No. 751, Accounts Payable for the month of March 2018. Ms. Poling made a motion to adopt Resolution No. 751. Mrs. Ryan seconded the motion and it was carried unanimously.

 

The Chairperson turned the meeting over to the Executive Director for her monthly report. She explained the monthly report adding that it is given to the Board each month. For March we had a delinquent total of $2,504.00 and this was DuBois Garden Apartments only. We had a total of twelve vacancies and housed a total a five families. The vacancy rate for March 2018 for all three developments is 95.8%.

 

The Executive Director advised our 2017 Capital Fund application has been approve by HUD. We will be using a portion of this funding for the countertop installation at all three developments.

 

The Executive Director advised that Ms. Linda Lizio had passed the Tenant Relations Assistant exam.

 

The Executive Director asked Mr. Battaglia for his monthly report. Mr. Battaglia advised Remodel Now will begin installing new countertops on April 23, 2018 they will be installing the countertops at Forest Hill Towers first. The TV antenna at Kingsboro Towers upgrade has been completed and the residents seem happy with the results.

 

The Executive Director asked Ms. Lizio for her monthly report. Ms. Lizio advised the inspections at Kingsborough Apartments have been completed and they only need to re-inspect one apartment. The inspections at DuBois Garden Apartments are scheduled for April 18th – 20th. Ms. Lizio advised the nominating petitions are available at our three developments.

 

With no further business to discuss the Chairperson asked for a motion to adjourn. Mrs. Ryan made a motion to adjourn. Ms. Nicosia seconded the motion and it was carried unanimously. The meeting adjourned at 6:08 PM.
