January Tower Talk

Joyce Estey, President, called the meeting to order. Betty Gugenberger our outgoing chaplain, thanked our outgoing officers for their service to the Tenants Association. We would like to say Thank You to Betty for the many years that she has donated her time and efforts to the association. A big Thank You to Carlie Myers, our past secretary and Arlene Whittingham, our past treasure, for their past service to the association and wish them well in their next endeavors. The new slate of officers were installed and they are: Joyce Estey, President, Maggie Anderson, Vice-President, Marie Buyce, Secretary, Beverly Bartlett, Treasure, Marilyn Manzer, Alternate, Tommy Tubbs, Chaplin and Darlene Lobdell, Sunshine. Good luck to all of our new and returning officers.

A special thanks to Cindy Vaughn and Paula Manzer for stepping up and taking on the Sunshine tasks last year.

The secretary’s and treasurer’s reports were presented and accepted by those in attendance with no objections.

Tommy Tubbs, our new Chaplin announced that he is planning of meeting all tenants in their apartments in the near future to get to know them and to promote community camaraderie in the building.

The Tower Talk puzzles will be returning this month with a $50 prize to be awarded to the tenant with the with the most number of comleted puzzles with the correct answers at the Christmas Party in December. If you would like to participate, return your completed monthly puzzle to any of the officers prior to the next month. The answers to the previous months puzzle will be published in the next issue of Tower Talk. Good Luck.

It was proposed and accepted that association members must attend a minimum of five meetings in order to get the discount price for our various events during the year. The previous minimum was 4. It is the responsibility of members to make sure that they sign in prior to the start of association meetings.

Please be sure to return any carts that you use to the back of the Community Room. The Housing Authority has been considerate enough to allow the tenants to have some carts in the building, but as a reminder, it is important that the privilege is not abused and to return any cart that you have used back to the Community Room in a neat and orderly manner to the back of the Community Room.
